About Me

Hello šŸ™‚

My name is Garric Gaspar Nahapetian. Welcome to my website powered by WordPress! In this section you will find bits and pieces of my life that I would like to share with you to give you a general understanding of it; where I’ve been, what I’ve done, what I love, and how I think. I hope to make this a living document.

Check out my meet up, Learn Swift LA. It has over 300 members and its only been 7 months! We meet almost every week on Wednesdays in Los Angeles. I try my best to teach people what I’m learning about iOS Development and to help others learn and get excited about being a Swift Developer. Our members are great and they give me lots of positive feedback which gives me energy to keep learning and moving forward. Every now and then I learn a thing or two from them too :p

The meet up attracts a lot of people at or below my skill level which is great because that was my goal with the group in the first place. I wanted to meet locals that were learning just like me. I felt really alone and almost in a state of despair and the group has helped me realize that I’m not the only one feeling and thinking this way. And I try to instill that at all of the meetings.

Watch Episode 1 from Habitas | Spring 2015 at Further Further. I was a part of the Habitas Family that created the incredible experience that is captured in this video.

Habitas is one of the most exciting things in my life right now. I started participating in this at the beginning of September 2014. What we are creating, the people involved, the experience that is had, and what we have in store for the future is all unforgettable. To understand me, you must appreciateĀ Habitas.

Before Habitas, I was playing harmonica as Bevi Harwood in the Los Angeles Blues band, The Downtown Train. Watch this trailerĀ I helped create for the release of our last album, Egyptian Quinceanera. In this short, you can see the diverse and synergistic talent that existed in the group. I play “The Doctor”.

We released two studio albums and one live album. I toured Los Angeles with the Train for six years straight averaging three shows a week if not three a day. We toured NorCal and the Northwest and even went to Burning Man twice and played on the playa. My last show with the Train was around November 2014.
